This was a tricky away Sunday evening fixture for the first game back after Christmas and I certainly felt the impact of too much celebrating over the festive period.
The result was a 3-2 victory to Dunnington with the two victories coming from Ian and Richard. Richard’s game was, by all accounts, the politest game of squash ever conducted. The phrase “I insist thats a Let to you” was rumoured to be heard. Ian played well as usual whilst pretending it was really hard work.
There was a lot of hard hitting in Perry’s game from both players. New shoes were probably a factor in Perry losing but it was good to watch. I think myself and Jess probably struggled with lack of match practice.
We had some nice food in the bar area and it really did highlight the advantage of having a club house at the courts. There is probably an outstanding question at Dunnington around who installed the showers so close together….. 🙂
